Innovation - The Lifeblood of Business Success
Today we have witnessed a global increased competition driven by rapid advances in the information, communication, collaboration, and coordination technologies. For many business/organisations it is a case of innovate or perish in the sea of increasing competition and technology changes. This is because today the only way to have an advantage is through innovation and improvement. The lesson of history has shown that organisation survival and prosperity depend heavily on their ability to innovate and sustain their competitive advantage.
What then are the 'why' factors that motivate organisation and their people to persevere in developing new product/service? Our management research and hands-on professional experience led us to believe that organisation need to articulate a clear vision for their future, find ways to energise their employees and set goal to gain profitable revenue through creating innovative product/service. This is because 'where there is no vision, the people perish' (Prov 28:18). However, the process to realise business success through does not occur through 'chance' or 'lady luck'. In fact, it demands a vigorous discipline, planning and determination in harvesting and utilising know-how and technology as needed to pursue the goal of creating innovative product/service.
The following diagram depicts a dimension of our approach in creating sustainable drive for innovation.
